PROTOCOL AND RULES FOR COVID - 19

GENERAL

  • This is a noticeably big challenge for all of us and it is not going to be easy in the beginning to get used to all the new ways of doing things. Let’s bear with each other and give each other time to settle in and get used to the new way. What’s going to work? Teamwork! I know we are a strong team with strong parents, we can do this!
  • We are all afraid for our kids, and this is a big challenge. We will do our best to do everything in our power to keep your children safe.
  • We all had training for this. And we do it with love.
  • Don’t hesitate to contact me if anything is not clear or any question you have about this.

RULES TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF THE COVID 19 VIRUS

  • If you are sick, stay home and stay away from other family members or any person who is sick.
  • If anyone of your family/friends test positive, please let the school know if you were in contact with them.
  • Always keep a distance of one meter between you and other people.
  • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Practice good hygiene by not touching your face, mask, or visor.
  • Sneeze/cough in your elbow.
  • Wear a mask, visor to cover your face.
  • Always put an extra mask in your child’s bag (in a Zip-lock bag) in case a mask breaks.
  • Children must come to school with a mask on. We will take it off after screening is done and replace with face shield. Second mask will be put on just before home time. So the reason for 2 Zip-log bags is on for morning mask and one for afternoon mask.
  • There are extra masks available at school. Especially in an emergency.

HOW WE ARE GOING TO OPERATE IN THE MORNINGS

  • Grown-ups should always wear masks.
  • I will already be screened before the children come in.
  • No parent will be allowed into the class. I will be the one to do the screening, washing hands and sanitizing (spray – 70% alcohol) before seating the child at their desk. If you need to see me, I shall go outside to you. Only Jacques, I and children are allowed inside.
  • Children will be screened (fever not higher than 37.5 degrees Celsius), will be allowed into the classroom.
  • Please let the kids wear “easy” shoes that they can manage themselves—They will be required to wear clean, warm clothing every day especially jeans.
  • During the day, hands will be washed with water and soap and sprayed regularly. Please inform us if your child is sensitive to anything and if you do not want us to spray with 70% alcohol.
  • They will be screened before going home .
  • You will still be required to fill in a “Weekly Screening Questionnaire” in which will be emailed to you to print out and return to school every Monday morning and it is “compulsory” as I need to file them.
SCREENING
  • Every child will be screened three times a day and filled in on the screening form to be kept on record.
  • The personnel will go through this every day.
  • When a child’s temperature goes above the regulated 37.5 degrees Celsius, we will take him/her to the ‘Quarantine Room”.
  • I will then immediately phone the parent to come and fetch the child. This must be done as quickly as possible. I will stay with the child until the parent arrives. I will bring the child out to the parent.
